Impact advisory services
At Resilience, we offer impact advisory services designed to help organisations and projects achieve meaningful and sustainable change. Our approach is rooted in the development and application of an impact pathway – a strategic tool that maps out the expected behavioural change of project participants needed to achieve desired outcomes and long-term impacts. By clearly defining the connections between activities, outputs, outcomes and ultimate goals, we help our partners to develop a realistic trajectory of their initiative and make informed decisions that drive positive change for the initiative.
The development of an impact pathway is central to our advisory work. In collaboration with our partners and project implementers, we co-create a clear and actionable pathway that aligns with their mission and objectives. The impact pathway is not static; as projects evolve, so does the impact pathway, ensuring continuous alignment with the intended impact.
To support implementation of the impact pathway, we offer interactive workshops that bring together stakeholders at all levels. These workshops build capacity in impact-oriented thinking and create a shared understanding of the pathway. Participants are guided through the steps of the pathway, reflecting on their roles and responsibilities in achieving the desired outcomes. We also review past activities to identify what worked well and how to build on these successes as the project moves forward.
Beyond the planning phase, our impact advisory services extend to strong monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning to track progress and monitor change. We use both qualitative and quantitative data, and offer expertise in the Dutch Food and Nutrition Security Framework. Quantitative data measures tangible outcomes such as improvements in income, nutrition or production, while qualitative data provides deeper insights into the experiences, perceptions and changes resulting from implementation for the people involved. For the latter, we use the appreciative inquiry approach to focus on what is working well and how to amplify these successes for greater impact. Where necessary, we recommend adaptive management strategies to address emerging challenges and ensure the pathway remains relevant and effective.
