Horticulture sector study
Problems
The Netherlands Embassy in Dhaka aimed to transition from traditional aid to more of a trade relationship. Accordingly, a study was commissioned to look into horticultural business opportunities. Advance Consulting, Resilience and Edge Consulting implemented this study in January–September 2021. Resilience specifically contributed to the methodological framework, institutional analysis and public sector recommendations.
Solutions
The study provided insight into key value chains and the institutional environment, and concluded with a number of private sector and public sector recommendations. The results of the study were discussed in a well-attended webinar with many representatives of the Bangladeshi and Dutch private sector. The report is available on the RVO website.
Impact
The results of the study were used as input to the Embassy’s horticulture combi track, which is being operationalised in 2024.
